Detection Pulse rounds out the three established optional abilities, and its name marks it as the information pick: where Blackout buys terrain and Reality Tear reportedly buys chaos, Detection Pulse buys knowledge — finding the people the night is hiding from you.

What's confirmed

  • It exists as an unlockable, optional-slot ability by this name, competing for one of the three optional picks.

What's reported

Community descriptions align on a pulse that reveals or indicates nearby civilians' positions — a periodic wallhack heartbeat rather than a passive radar. Range, duration of the reveal, and cooldown are unverified, and whether it distinguishes heroes from NPCs is an open question. Reported

Build thinking

Detection Pulse is strongest where Killer Sense is weakest: Killer Sense needs line of sight to build Stalk and gather intel, so a hiding, scattered endgame team starves it. A reveal pulse answers exactly that phase — late-match hunts, escape-route stakeouts, finding the last key-carrier. If your losses look like "built all game, couldn't find anyone at the end," this is your third slot.

If your losses look like "found everyone, arrived powerless," take the tempo picks first.

If you're a civilian

Against a suspected Pulse Michael: assume being found is inevitable and make being caught expensive — keep moving after any uncanny beeline he makes toward you, avoid predictable loot loops, and hold your defensive ground rules (lights, doors & noise) so that being seen never equals being cornered.
