Killer Sense is Michael's second fixed ability and the engine under everything he does: a first-person gaze mode that raises your Stalk level as you watch residents — up to a maximum of 3. Higher Stalk isn't cosmetic dread; it boosts your damage, grabs, and tracking. The knife finishes the night, but the gaze wins it.
How it works
Activate Killer Sense and observe. Watching people — NPCs, Special Targets, heroes — feeds the Stalk meter through its three levels. The precise rates (how long per level, whether target type changes speed) aren't officially published; what's confirmed is the structure: gaze builds Stalk, Stalk buffs your violence.
Why it's your opening
NPCs can't punish being watched — which makes the opening minutes free Stalk. The intended Michael curve (see the beginner guide) runs Killer Sense on NPCs and Special Targets first, banking levels before players group up or lights come on. A level-3 Michael and a level-0 Michael are different monsters in the same mask.
Using it well
- Gaze between actions. Killer Sense is also your intelligence tool — it's how you track routines, learn who's where, and pick the right room for a Shape Jump entrance.
- Stalk your next victim, not your last one. Watching the group that just escaped feels righteous and earns nothing; watching the lone looter two houses over earns everything.
- Pair with darkness. Gazing from unlit windows and doorways keeps the meter building without announcing the build.
If you're a civilian
You can't see his meter, but you can starve it: stay out of long sightlines, keep moving, and keep residents warned and moving too — a static, oblivious neighborhood is a Stalk farm. The defensive fundamentals are in lights, doors & noise.
