Blackout is the optional ability whose name explains the pitch: Michael's whole kit gets stronger in darkness — lights drain Bloodthirst and restrict Shape Jump — and Blackout is the pick that weaponizes the light war itself. It's one of the three established optional abilities for the loadout's three open slots.
What's confirmed
- Blackout exists as an unlockable optional-slot ability.
- The game's light economy is real and central: darkness is Michael fuel, and he can already cut power manually. An ability accelerating that is mechanically coherent with everything documented.
What's reported
Community descriptions consistently associate Blackout with killing lights beyond the manual breaker-cutting — area effects or remote disabling rather than walking to each switch. Scope, radius, duration, and cooldown are unverified. Reported
Build thinking
Blackout is the tempo pick. Manual power-cutting costs your most limited resource — time spent not stalking. If the reported effect holds, Blackout converts that chore into an ability cast, which compounds: more darkness → freer Shape Jump → faster Bloodthirst → earlier commits. It pairs naturally with an aggressive Stalk opening (see the beginner guide), and its counters are exactly the civilian fundamentals — light discipline and power defense.
