Death isn't the end: returning as a deputy or Dr. Loomis

When Michael finishes you, the game offers a second act: a QTE minigame that, on success, returns you to the match as a police deputy or Dr. Loomis — still able to contribute to the team's night. It's one of the game's smartest ideas: nobody spectates Halloween night.

How the respawn works

Die as a hero and the QTE prompt sequence begins. Succeed and you come back in one of the two support roles; the exact inputs and the rule deciding which role you get are not officially documented. Reports lean toward availability being tied to match state — police presence for the deputy, and Loomis as the rarer return. Unverified

Fail the QTE and your night is over in that body — so treat the minigame with the same focus as a chase. It is a chase, just smaller.

Playing the deputy

You come back armed and legitimate, but you're support now, not the star:

• Escort and screen. Walk with Special Target groups; your presence raises the cost of Michael committing.
• Anchor arrest plays. A deputy near a knockdown is what converts it into a detention.
• Hold the van. If the police-van escape is live, a deputy at the evacuation point keeps it honest.

Playing Dr. Loomis

Loomis returns as the night's expert — reports describe his value as awareness and support rather than combat power. Reported Play him as the team's eyes: tracking Michael's activity, calling movements, guiding survivors along safe routes. The mindset

   Don't waste your first life to get a "better" second one. Living heroes carry items, open routes, and score evacuations; the support roles can't do all of that.

   When death comes anyway, land the QTE. A returned deputy tilts every remaining fight; a failed QTE is a 3v1 for your friends.

   Keep contributing. The win condition is residents evacuated — a dead hero who screens two Special Targets out as a deputy did their job.
