Perk decks & Perk Points, explained

Updated Sep 11, 2026v1.0.1Verified2 min read

The civilian perk system is a card game: Perk Points are the currency, Perk cards are what you buy, your purchases form a Deck, and each match deals you three random perks from it. You don't pick your build at the loading screen — you curate the pool the dealer draws from.

The loop

  1. Earn Perk Points through play (early-access players also received a free grant as a thank-you).

  2. Buy Perk cards — each purchase adds that perk to your civilian Deck.

  3. Get dealt three at the start of each match, randomly, from your Deck.

Specific perk names, costs, and effects are still being catalogued — the in-game shop is authoritative for what's available to you.

Deck-building: the randomness rule

Because the deal is random, the classic mistake is buying every shiny card. Every purchase dilutes every other card's draw odds. The discipline:

  • Buy generalists first. A perk that helps in any match (movement, item interaction, awareness) is never a dead draw. Niche perks — great in one situation — are blanks the other 80% of deals.
  • Keep the deck lean early. A small deck of solid cards beats a bloated deck with occasional stars. Expand once the fundamentals are all in.
  • Buy toward your role. If you always play escort in the opening split, weight the deck toward escort value; loot-runners weight toward item/speed value.

What we'd verify before spending big

Reports differ on a few economy details — check in your build before planning around them:

  • Whether duplicate cards can enter a deck (weighting the draw). Unverified
  • Whether any deck-size cap exists. Unverified
  • How Prestige interacts with owned perks — whether anything resets. Unverified
