Civilians don't find gun lockers in Haddonfield — they find what a 1978 suburb keeps in its kitchens, garages, and closets. Household weapons is the umbrella category for that improvised arsenal: the confirmed "weapons" half of "fight back with light and weapons."

How the category works

Weapons spawn as searchable pickups throughout houses. Individual weapon types, damage differences, and durability rules aren't officially catalogued, and community tier lists conflict enough to distrust — this is a category entry until specific weapons can be verified individually. Reported

What weapons are actually for

Not hunting — leverage. A weapon in civilian hands does three jobs:

  1. Self-defense when caught: fighting out of a grab-adjacent disaster.
  2. Knockdowns: grouped, armed civilians under lights can put Michael on the floor — the setup that becomes an arrest with police active.
  3. Deterrence: a visibly armed escort group raises the cost of every commit Michael considers.

When to fight

The fight rules from the defense fundamentals:

  • Fight under lights (his power drains, his mobility shrinks), in numbers (3+ makes knockdowns realistic), and on purpose (a chosen room, not a panicked hallway).
  • Never fight to kill — he doesn't. Fight to knock down, then spend the window on evacuation, not victory laps.

Notes & bugs

  • Weapon break/durability behavior: unverified. Unverified
  • Whether specific weapons alter knockdown odds: unverified, heavily speculated. Unverified
